Blog #8: Professionalism (November 29th 2011)

1. Oh God, the memories....I was constantly looking for opportunities in the area I wanted to work in after college. I would call places, visit places, and fill out applications and be the best person I could be. After that 'dream' died out, I decided to look for areas where I excelled in other than computers. I then decided office work was my next best thing, I began calling schools and finally I got an opportunity at Ochoa.

2. Be confident, being nervous makes you do stupid and clumsy things. Be yourself, don't try to be what your not, because it's obvious you will fail as that. Lastly, sell yourself, make yourself stick out from the rest of the people who are trying to get this opportunity. Look like you would make a difference to the company if you were hired.

3. In the real world, it's not school; no goofing off, no talking with friends, no texting, no food, etc. No exception. I've learned that you are a dog and do what you are told. Sometimes what you are told to do is fun, sometimes it's boring. But you will get over it. It's all fun and games till the infamous pink slip appears on your desk.
